American Roller Skating Derby League Formed in 1997 by owner DAN FERRARI, and living in it's "TRUE PROFESSIONAL" Roller Derby Banked Style Skating.

Promoter Dan Ferrari, owner of the American Roller Skating Derby (Roller Derby Sports) league, said he hopes one of his teams, the Los Angeles San Diego Firebirds kick some ass this year !

"We're hoping that San Bernardino can become the home of the Firebirds," Ferrari said, speaking over the whooshing clacks of skates wheeling around the masonite track.

In Ferrari's league, like those of Roller Derby lore, feature coed teams.

Practice sessions are available daily and on weekends, Ferrari said, along with Saturday night games.

If all goes well - meaning they put a lot of fannies into the roughly 1,000-seat arena - the Firebirds might lose the Los Angeles part of their name.

"It's the best sport to go in and get your aggressions out," Ferrari said. "Better than spending $200 at a shrink. It's not like a movie where you have to sit and be quiet. There's nothing like sitting at a live game. It's just wild."

We are recruiting young talent for the 08 season.

e REAL (Roller Derby sports) - is not played on a flat track roller rink. Our Banked Track, which is 52 feet wide by 96 feet long. The Banked Track, is what you need in order to have a real Roller Derby game. It's just not Roller Derby without a Banked Track.

 Just so there is no confusion. Our new American Roller Skating Derby team (A.R.S.D), the Firebirds official name will is the Los Angeles-San Diego Firebirds. We have really cool Purple and Gold Jersey's!

ONLY IN SAN DIEGO... NOT!!!

The Firebirds were originally planning to only skate in the San Diego area during the 2008-2009 season; and the Bay Bombers only in the Bay Area. We are excited to announce that due to high demand, we will be adding several games in the Los Angeles area also!

How and why did you get involved with ARSD Roller Derby Sports?

I used to roller skate, until all my friends were on roller blades. Then I skated aggressive inline, vert and park, until I learned about Dan Ferrari's (ROLLER DERBY SPORTS ™) league. Now, polyurethane pours from my ears on a full-time basis. There isn't a morning that I don't wake up and my first thought is SOMETHING related to derby or skating. I love scrimmage practices and it's crazy ass hard. It's likely be the most rewarding experience you have in skating ARSD roller derby. To know that you built something from scratch, and that people are there to see it, is just amazing.

Check out this latest invention in quad skates. Quadline consists of using any boot with 4 trucks with 100mm wheels and Abec 9 speed bearings. We have set up this to be the Sure Grip Boxer with the Rock Speed plate and using the Quadline trucks, wheels and bearings. This is a really cool skate, so if you love to quad skate and you want to try something new.

To bad this was Buddy Atkinson Sr. design. Now it has a Patent on it.
