trained skaters in Roller Derby. If you have dreams of competing in

The LA-FireBirds are a powerhouse of a team. The Men and Women have
spent most of their professional careers involved in skating or with
Roller Derby. We work very hard at our craft 3-5 times a week. We
believe that no other Roller Derby league brings together the same
depth of skaters and experience as we do.

High Scores Women Vicki McEwen ( FireBirds ) with 12 pts
Men Roman Lascon (FireBirds) with 14 points
It was another terrifc game at Faiplex with Standing Room Only!
The match race never happened. Dave Martinez was injured in the 4th period when he went off the high side of the track, snagged his skate wheel on an upright's padding, and then crashed onto the concrete floor. This was the same leg he injured two weeks ago.
He was wheeled off to the locker room on a gurney. He returned in the last period heavily taped but did not skate anyone.
Jim Fitzpatrick from the Bay Bombers was also in attendance.
There may be another game scheduled in late January 2010.

Tony,
I had the best time of my life skating tonight!!!! It was my first time, I started scared like hell!! LOL - But when I put up the speed and crossing over on the corners, all of my scare-ness went away and I loooove the way you coach!!
You made me forgot about my torn PCL - or maybe I scared the hell out of my knee that it holding on together tonight and fixed it!! - My friends was scared for me cause I left my donjoy at home - I think that the knee brace just handicapped me more and didn't let my left leg work out the way it supposed to be.
Again thank you for the experience. I am a new person again. I felt that butterfly in my stomach again - a thing that I haven't feel for a long time whenever I stepped into the rink and I'll definetely will see you on Thursday!!

The
LA FireBirds Debut New Site and LA Roller derby returns to Pomona
Fairplex in 2011-2012 with plains of Long Term for our team. NOS Events Center in San
Bernardino will be the new home of the FireBirds with games and
training coming 2011. The Los Angeles FireBirds have launched this new
website to highlight their current schedule, practice regiment, and
upcoming events.
You can view this site and it will feature photo albums, interactive
forums, fan voting, small online store, and much much more coming the first of the year.
It's a project we've been working on for some time and I'm glad we
finally have the site up. It will enable fans to keep up to date with
the LA FireBirds and with what is coming up for our team. It's an
integral part of the new face of the LA FireBirds!

Keeping Fit and Having Fun. Derby is not just a fad-it's a way of life.
Skating conditioning which increases strength & endurance. Keeping
fit doesn't neccessarily mean sticking to arduous regimes, the most
important thing is for you to be as active as you can in skating.
Banked Track Mastering The Basics:
It takes about 4-8 months of training 3-5 days a week in order to
master the basics of a banked track skater. Then it takes years more of
working the plays in front of audiences to get the timing down that
makes the audience jump out of their seats. The LA FireBirds are
looking forward to getting together with new young skaters for our
practices.
